This is the most important part of the process of me creating your Pet Portrait.
The better the photograph, the better the drawing.
Please take a look at the images below, they are examples of good and bad quality photos.
These are great examples of photographs that would allow me to create a highly detailed portrait.
Highly detailed photograph taken on a digital camera or a mobile phone with a high megapixel camera.
The photographs are both taken in natural daylight, one outside and one inside with the sun behind the photographer.
The photos are taken at eye level with the dog.
When zooming in, I am able to see every individual hair stroke and the fur colour is clear.
The nose, mouth and teeth are in perfect focus, so that I can see all of the tiny details.
There is a good reflection in the eyes.
The photo on the left is dark, as it's been taken with the sun behind the dogs, instead of behind the photographer.
The photo on the right has been taken too far away, as you can see from the zoomed image it is blurry.
When zooming in, I am unable to see every individual hair stroke and the photos are both quite dark.
The nose and mouth of both photos are not in focus and very dark, I am unable to see all of the tiny details.
I cannot see a reflection in the eyes, they are both very dark.
We can discuss your requirements, the total cost and I can give you a timescale.
I will ask you to send me any photos you have, we can discuss which ones are the best quality for me to create your portrait. Please read my Photo Requirements above for the best reference photographs.
If you are happy with everything so far, the deposit of £50 is now due.
I will then start your portrait, on the date we have it booked in for. I will keep you informed of my progress along the way or if you would like to wait and see the finished portrait, this is fine too.
When I have completed your portrait, if requested, I will send you a final photograph and when you are 100% happy with your drawing I will request the final payment.
